This old planet can get pretty tough around here on a guy

What used to look like a wide open highway
Turns into a block long dead end road

Man, I sure live the good life
I didn't let things get me down
I know I hit the good life
I didn't let much bring me down
When that highway turned into a dirt road
Man, that whole thing just turned around

Man, I learned to love the high life
And never did much about what I was told
Made my own situation

Never got along with doin' what I was told
But now I listen real hard
