While the rain passes
Cecília leiteThe rain falls through the window
I feel the sound of silence and I miss you
In the light afternoon breeze
While I forget you
Life passes without hummingbirds
Without landscapes or directions
Without moonlight, or any reason
While I forget you
I remember our love
Coloring the warm afternoons in rio
With the tints of our lightness
Our smiles and certainties of my steps on your footsteps
I remember our arm-kisses, our leg-hugs
In our eternal hours
But then, I wipe off the pain of the moment
From loving comes the soothing
And from tears I come to laughter
And inside of me I lift a toast to love
Not the one that what had been silenced
But the one that still sings
While the rain passes
While I forget you
Time runs down without any joy
I see absences, emptiness, vanities
In the hearts of the city
While I forget you
Are your poems necessary?
Which countries, which landscapes
Can numb your pain
While I forget you
I remember our love
Coloring the warm afternoons in rio
With the tints of our lightness, our smiles
And certainties of my steps on your footsteps
I remember our arm-kisses, our leg-hugs
In our eternal hours
And then, I wipe off the pain of the moment
From loving comes the soothing
And from tears I come to laughter
And inside of me I lift a toast to love
Not the one that what had been silenced
But the one that sings
While the rain passes…
