Last day parade

I'm standing at the edge of oblivion. A thousand graves stretched for miles down past the theater and the hospitals who seemed like their purpose has been served. The few survivors dressed in black, waiting for a funeral to arrive. We sit atop the lone building that stands looking over the aftermath of this parade doused in flames. It was to be the last day of the riots, but it looks like it came a day too late.

I look downtown, further thru the car exhaust and ash, the street lights are replaced with the flashing siren of an ambulance...without a driver.
It's hard to get a view when the lens is shattered, shards of stained glass across the pavement where a chapel once stood. Maybe as the night draws near, the noise will deafen in the distance. I can't seem to get any sleep when the flags have disappeared and the skyline flickers out in a heart beat. Yes, we are too late...and we're all to blame.
