When i was a boy i used to sing
E-i-e-i, oli, oli, oxen free, where'd everybody go?
We'd run and find a place to hide not wanting to be found
Every time we'd run away these words would resound

And we'd find a place to run

And the game had just begun

When i was a child i used to hear the teachers say
"will you ever grow up, and put childish things away?"
As i grew older i learned if i would pray
I would hear another voice and this is what he'd say

It was the voice of god's own son

And there's no place you can run

He's coming as a thief, a thief in the night
All that is hidden, will come to light
For the day of the lord will be feared
So harken to his word and draw near... i will draw near
