Never touch a singing bird

Never touch a singing bird, a wild bird.
Never move or say a word,
But sit and listen quietly,
Underneath the forest tree.
You cannot catch and hold its song,
For if it's tame, it's not the same.
The singing bird does not belong
To you or me or anyone, or anyone.
This bird won't sing unless it's free.
