Potter's field

Spent my days on the tramp and on the oceans
On the quest for what it's for i strode the nights
I slept in the dark of the arches where all strangers used to sleep
Saw the ghost side of the land as the sun went down on me

At potter's field is where you find me
Beneath the oak trees and the moon i nest
At potter's field is where i laid down
Amongst my predators and friends i rest

Close your eyes and you can hear the weeping
Forgotten lonely hearts can't make their peace
Hear unchristened souls yearning for remission and relief
The shady side of life and the downside of belief
