She looked at me with eyes that longed for company
Little bits of light shown through her hair, and on to me
Desire made me want to stay, that’s how it goes

Today I rode along, and I penned, this little tune

That’s a picture of a day, when you live the lonesome way
But I wouldn’t trade it for a pot of gold
