though I'm not convinced to salute the flag

and the rockets burning within my mind

and in DC, as they pass down their choice
to send young blood burning from the bay

as a civil twilight engulfs our land

I pledge allegiance to the sound of your feet
on the way to work in the early morn

though I'm not convinced to salute the stripes

and yes I guess why execs at their desks
never air an arab on CNN
