Goddess in dust
A sickness unto deathThe ripping inside
The wages of treason not fading
Nor paying shelter for the gods
She hangs her head in agony
In a veil of shame she hides
All her creatures once marvelling
Now abandoned her grace
In the tunnels she flooded
Now she found her grave
The warmth that she gave
Now burning our eyes
And the song she intoned
Now sings itself
Away her breath is dying
A goddess in dust
My eyes so pale enshrining
The goddess in dust
She hangs her head in agony
In a veil of shame she hides
She shrives her sins so deathlessly
Mortality is nigh
No icon adorned by the charm of her eyes
Forgotten is her fraud and her lies
The hand that she filled
Carved a tombstone of gold
And the tongues that enthroned her
Breed verdict on her soul
Away her breath is dying
A goddess in dust
My eyes so pale enshrining
The goddess in dust
A ghost light now is dying
A goddess in dust
Eternity denying
The goddess in dust
Abandoned by the masses
Far away from heresy
The queen of solace
Still lives on
Her words so adulating
Still enthroned
In the hearts of her disciples
Yearning for comfort
And as the dead bury the dead
They still gather her remnants
Digging in the cursed ground
Of this cemetery divine
In an attempt to revive her
Driven by remorse
In their last breath they joined
The funeral of a fallen deity
