Shouting at the ghost
Corinna janeAnd my spine is twitching slightly out of time,
It's my routine for the day,
But, the pressure around my head suggests,
Certain things that I just can't forget,
Did you have your way?
'Cause we bid goodbye some years ago,
But I've got no strength please let me go,
Even if you're the ones I love the most,
Your icy chills won't give me thrills,
Why does your presence follow me still?
And now I'm shouting at the ghost...
Resentment, guilt - two different things,
But to me are quickly merging,
I can't distinguish 'tween the two,
When I call out your name, do you hear me exclaim,
I'm enchained, ashamed, 'cause I let you hold the reigns?
Am I getting through?
'Cause we bid goodbye some years ago,
But I've got no strength please let me go,
Even if you're the ones I love the most,
Your icy chills won't give me thrills,
Why does your presence follow me still?
And now I'm shouting at the ghost...
What's the point in telling you that I'm not amused by this,
You have a knack for coming back and grace me with a chilling kiss!
And though I do remember you, I'm compelled to say farewell,
And climb out of the abyss in which I fell...
'Cause we bid goodbye some years ago,
But I've got no strength please let me go,
Even if you're the ones I love the most,
Your icy chills won't give me thrills,
Why does your presence follow me still?
And now I'm shouting at the ghost...
'Cause we bid goodbye some years ago,
But I've got no strength please let me go,
Even if you're the ones I love the most,
Your icy chills won't give me thrills,
Why does your presence follow me still?
And now I'm shouting at the ghost...
