I showed up in Nashville broke and scared
With an old guitar that I had played for you

Now I wish that I was up there with them all

I made a connection with some luck

Tex Ritter wrote his name and he's in the Hall of Fame

And so many Hanks I couldn't read them all
Will there be space for me on Tootsie's wall

Then I've wrote a song and the I recorded it
Guess what happened the darn thing was a hit

Yesterday they wrote my name on Tootsie's wall

And a thousand more that I just can't recall
