Train window
Louisa cooden
I look through the train window,
I look at the world outside,
Swirling skies of dull complication,
Bleak streaks of lines in the past,
I look at the world outside,
Swirling skies of dull complication,
Bleak streaks of lines in the past,
I look through the train window,
I look at the people outside,
Wearing colours of the rainbow
But they are all grey inside
I look through the train window,
I look at the reflection inside,
I look at myself through the window
And what do I see?
A broken shell
Of what I used to be
I never laugh, I only cry
My tears roll down as I remember your lies
I look through the train window, I look at the poetry outside,
Dismaying thoughts floating like driftwood,
Now I'm awoken at last,
When I looked through the train window,
It looked through me.
