Children of the night

Deep within our blackest minds
Lies a sacred truth
It tells us how to see the world
Controlling our thoughts

No escape because we do not comprehend
The conscious mind lives in captivity

And the game continues on and on
We deny reality

Black clouds surround the blood red sky
We walk in shadows of the night
Can we regain control again
From the dark side of the human mind

And as we try to win our fears
One certain thing remains
There's no hiding from ourselves
We have to take control

The question is among us all the time
Haunting our lives and dreams
People try to find an answer
A reason for their existance
No matter how black the world seems
No matter the confusion
Trying understand humanity
Until the last breath of life

We are the children of the night
To live, To see,
To find a meaning

Innocence is just a dream we try to gain
In reality we stay the same

It is easier to face the truth
