Dream awake
Morpheus' dreamsAs the drought comes again
Will I be wasting my time if I pray?
“Lord, where’s the wetting rain?”
We’re leaving, departing
Forsaking our only home
Wandering, believing
On creed, faith and hope
And for the childhood I will never ever have
The desert of my life where my heart was left
And for the childhood I will never ever live
This desert where my road now begins
Why can’t my prayers
Now heal this sore?
While we’re waiting
We suffer even more
Holy Father, shall you keep
Crowning us with thorns?
Can’t you see my mother’s tears
A spear in my heart?
I know fire burns, I feel on my face
When night goes, with sun comes
My disgrace
No seas are left, all rivers dried
Just sand in my eyes
Over a footpath of dry leaves
We walk and we stand
Through dust and wind
“Lord, this oasis is dead”
Over the footprints and
Over the scars of this land
Barren fields and the scourge of man
Oh, I dreamed that was raining
In a blue and vivid sky painting
When I wake from my mirage
I starve but I wait
Oh, when I dream always rains
Rain washing my sorrow, moistening my face
Will I wake from my mirage
And starve once again?
Morpheus, please tell me
If my prayer is in vain
How long we’ll walk
Until we get faint?
Hunger striking
Sun burning my faith
In my mother’s arms
Will I be once again?
I know fire burns, I feel on my face
I know I have to go, I know this is my fate
When night goes, with sun comes
My disgrace
No seas are left, all rivers dried
When the sand comes
There’s blood in my eyes
Without the falling of the rain
We have nowhere to go
The only place that we may rest
Is the place to rest our souls
Need to reach for the stars
So, God, please, take me that far
Above the sky my tears will fly
To wet the land and all the scars
We now dream awake
