Of ice and snow
Nemesis: children of the feyIcy tang that rides the wind: a taste of the future as the nights draw in.
Eerie watch the land turn inward, colours drain from all that lives,
Wildlife scurrying asunder, all know what these winds do bring.
Darken days and fires burn, this change is more than you or i,
Foolish is the man sat quietly doing naught but watch the skies.
Steel on stone and axes biting, towering shelter taken down,
Piled high the cautious wisdom, life for life, war to survive.
Freeze. forsaken. ice. encrusts your eyes.
White. this blinding nightmare. night. brings your demise.
Now abed and safely sleeping, wolves howl blindly moon obscured.
Dreams of icy falling patter, restless as the season turns.
Sunlight on a gleaming landscape, snow drifts on relentlessly,
Thin white mantle natures portent winter‟s challenge for all to see.
Nights grow deeper, snows falls harder, rivers freeze and trees explode.
Storms of ice and killing winds that strip unwary flesh from bone,
Fires banked higher still ice invades, our homes these havens now besieged
By the mighty fist of winter crushing all in deathly freeze!
Ar!
Storms of ice and killing winds that strip unwary flesh from bone,
Ice elves and witches from whence the north wind blows.
