Enthroned in obscurity
NexumEnthroned in Obscurity
[Lyrics by Lord Selvmord]
Lonely winds whisper over the desolate hills
Carrying tales of sorrow and solitude
The earth groans bestowing winters chills
Whispers drowned by the sky.
A thick blanket of snow lay
Where heated stares could betray
Those who's faith had gone astray
Fate peered through the fading clouds
It's trickery a veil over
The myriad of tragedies it shrouds.
Tongues of flame danced to the beating of one lone heart
Who slept alone beneath the sky that will impart
More ebbing wounds unto the one below
The fires of his curses upon the kingdoms, aglow.
The moon, a cryptic orb
paused in theatre with the topazletting stars
Gilding all that lay azured below.
A raven sat enthroned upon the dark wood
Which gasped, forlorn from autumns scorn
Darkness seething around the gnarled trunks
A nocturnal state bequeathed to this solemn place
Bestowing it the beauty of enchanted dusk.
Tears frozen upon his cheek as he gazed
Through the naked wood infront of him
To see twin crystalline eyes peering back
Dancing with carnal lusts, thick with the night.
Beckoning him deep within'
To search for the night's temptresses
That would entwine with his
Addiction to perpetual sorrow.
For he has seen the darkness in the light.
And he has seen the beauty in the night.
'Tween his fingers he grasped the spellbound branch
He pulled it from his enthralled vision and he dared
To walk down this thorned path, coated with
The stench of absinthe and the light's bane.
The apparition of this seductive maiden
Had his world turned and ensorcelled
Within' the dying light of dusk
He left all his hopes and dreams
To burn and rot just to dance
With the darkness' queen.
As contorted visions flashed through his mind
The obsidian of night took him beneath it's wing
And ushered him through this impure path
As he took her fair hand and they walked
Deep into the darkness together.
Feral maws of the wolves opened agape
Howling ancient runes into the darkness
That whispered over this wintry landscape
Azured and glowing beneath the jewelled sky.
For he had seen the darkness in the light.
And he has seen the beauty in the night.
For he had seen the folly in the light
And he was tempted to bliss in the night.
Enthroned into obscurity, Enthroned into blight.
