Running
Ruby gill
this is an account of all i walked away from,
a list of my goodbyes.
as i took a road, in the opposite direction,
seeking your advice.
a list of my goodbyes.
as i took a road, in the opposite direction,
seeking your advice.
a feeling, of innocence,
as i left the dust behind,
sensing your incompetence,
i ran the final mile.
stroke by stroke i cross out,
all the lies in the past.
stride by stride, pushing forward,
im going fast.
i can run, but i cant hide,
so i'll run until i die,
i can see that love is blind,
but i will never mind.
i can run, but i cant dance,
there was never a second chance,
i can see, the distance between...
running, running, run...
this is a picture,
of marks all around.
as i pushed off, the starting point,
belief in the ground.
a picture, of things unsaid,
yet understood by all.
the final stretch.
the final call.
beggars cant be choosers,
but i'll still decide,
when it gets confusing,
i'll take it in my stride...
