Saving face

It's beyond me, some people I have seen
Who love each other so deep in the heart
But the words they use, come out sounding so mean
And that's all that keeps them apart
That's all

Saving face that's what this is all about
Saying face and nothing more
I won't lock you in and I will leave you some way out
I want things like they were before

I know how it feels, not much time has passed
What you could have said and what you could see
So I guess it's my call, now it's your back against the wall
To do like you did for me just like you did

And I'm trying so hard to be strong
Not to say I told you so you were wrong
