Another prophecy
The prophetDon't you see there's a fire?
You can't believe how it burns inside
For I was born cursed
With the vision to see
All that has been before
And all that's gonna be
How I can sleep
When I know what I dream
Will soon become my reality
I sit up at night
And though I try to fight
I know I'm bound to see
Another prophecy
You don't know how hard it can be
When you've got the world at your feet
Hanging on each word that you say
Begging you for wisdom and to show them the way
But God forbid that one day I should make a mistake
People insist
I was born with a gift
They follow me
And they ask me if
This could be that
Or if that could be this
They're driving me insane
And yet they still persist
Give us some sign
Of what's coming in time
And I just tell them
That it's slipped my mind
When they say they doubt
That I've really forgot
I answer it must be
I've got a mental block
Why do people look up to me
I don't want to dream what I dream
Just for once I need to be free
Take a small vacation and relax on the beach
All the other prophets only work once a week
Why do people run after me
I don't want to see what I see
Why don't they just leave me alone
If they need an idol
They should carve one from stone
Or maybe call Mick Jagger
Or Sylvester Stallone
