Psalm 17 (the apple of your eye)
The psalms projectListen to my cry
The most honest prayer You’ve ever heard
Let my vindication come
From Your presence
I know You know I’m in the right
You’ve come to me by night
You have tried my heart and found me innocent
For I’ve decided that my mouth would speak no sin
And by Your word I have avoided the paths of my enemies
My feet have held fast
So I call on You, You will answer me
Incline Your ear, hear my prayer
Show me Your love in beautiful ways
O Savior of those who find refuge at Your right hand
O Savior of those who find refuge from their enemies in You
Keep me as the apple of Your eye
Hide me in the shadow of Your wings
From the evil one gunning for me
From my enemies who surround me
Their hearts are cold as ice
They pour out arrogance
They even now surround my every step
They’ve set their sights to tear me down
Like lions
Eager to devour, lurking everywhere
Arise, O Lord
Confront my foes
Overwhelm them with Your sword
Deliver my soul
From men of this world whose portion is this life
Deliver my soul
For you fill their lives with treasure
You satisfy them with children
And they keep their wealth for generations
But as for me, as for me
I will behold Your face in righteousness
In holiness
And when I awake
When I awake
I will be satisfied, I will be satisfied with Your beauty
I will be satisfied when I awake with You
I will be satisfied when I awake next to You
