One more drink than needed
The siren towerAnd back to thoughts of life
Contemplating 50 years, contemplating strife
Will i find somebody,
Will my children be at my side,
Or will some stranger bag my cold body at the site
This foothold feels uncertain,
This view is low on light
Never knowing what’s ahead keeps me awake at night
That by which i define myself
Seems fragile now and old
It feels like i could slip away and nobody would know
How will i make my money
If this nothing job it ends
Would all my friends move right on if i had to start again
Some days it feels i’m losing
The ground on which i’ve built
Some bullshit inflated perception of myself
I feel that’s hurt connections
With loved ones throughout the years
And now instead of a family i’m left with sand seizing the gears
They say that nothing’s written
And all will come to pass
So i’ll carry on existing as i charge this lonely glass
One more drink than needed
And back to thoughts of life
Contemplating 50 years, contemplating strife
Will i find somebody,
Will my children be at my side,
Or will some stranger bag my cold body at the site
One more drink than needed
And back to thoughts of life
Contemplating 50 years, contemplating strife
One more drink than needed
