The winterstone
ValhaloreBeneath the blackened sky
Amongst the withered trees
Ravaged by wind so cold
Her voice it beckons me
And slowly echoes in my dreams
A song of sorrow
That can never be revealed
Enraptured I long for your touch
But know that you’ll never appear
A love song of sweet words unspoken
That all turn to serpents when they reach my ears
Fists of iron, heart of stone
How you wound me, I don’t know
Once and again we will dance on the wind
Until the end when the sky crashes in
Dying to hold, but unable to feel the warmth
Of a winter’s kiss
A mind that longs for freedom
And a heart that longs for peace
So lost in endless longing
Only death my sweet release
How I yearn to slip away
Fall forever through the stars
Shall I face another day
With the cold that grips my heart
You took from me mortality
And etched me in the ground
My eyes were frozen shut
But they see much clearer now
Forever I will watch you
And my soul will find it’s peace
As I gratefully surrender
And I welcome your release
Fists of iron, heart of stone
You shan’t wound me evermore
