Island lost in mist
Ankou awaitsAll his sons and began
His most disturbing tale
Long ago he had went upon a hunt
Searching for wild game
In his quest, he spied a loch
Filled with fowl and beasts
He searched and searched
For a way to reach the island
But none could be found
A boat appeared quite suddenly
And he began to cross the water
Mist and fog rolled in as
Conall was reaching the shore
So dense was it that his
Sight and hearing failed
Further in the island
Light could be seen
And a wailing was heard
Conall came upon a cabin in clearing
And a roaring cooking fire
A cauldron sat above the blaze
Tended by a woman holding a child
The weeping that had been heard
Was coming from the woman
Who held a dagger to the throat
Of a laughing infant
The warrior questioned why
She would kill her child
And between sobs she spoke
An evil wizard had brought her here
And demanded she boil her child
To feed his appetite
Conall took pity on them both
And devised a plan to escape
He bid the woman to hide her child
And climbed himself into the pot
The wizard returned and asked
The woman how his meal was coming
She replied the child
Had yet to finish cooking
As the hero made false cries from
Inside the heating vat
Content to wait, the sorcerer
Took a seat and soon had fallen asleep
Conall climbed from the caldron
Seized a spear and ran the wizard through
You see my king
That adventure was surely more dire
Than the loss of my sons
The tale was considered,
But the king remained silent
