The fatal kiss of time

Pass away, time's fatal kiss,
My blood doth clot, my body rot.
Dark and dreadful shadows blur
Distorted sight, my mind's might.

Embrac'd by eternity,
Painful-sweet anxiety
Hath reached the mountain of despair,
Of death and cold, poison'd air.
Darkness taketh me by hand,
Vanish'd to a mournful land.

Silent tears desire feed,
Frozen thoughts o' frozen greed,
Dust to cover, passionate night,
Redeem'd the pain of dreary fight,
Close pale eyes, faded chest
As I lay myself to rest.

No more need to sigh and cry, / O my Lord! Please...do not...
Death hath kissed my life good-bye. / ...Pass away...
